The EU, which banned PIA from working in Europe, asked the same PIA to help them evacuate its citizens from Afghanistan

The European Union , which banned Pakistan International Airline (PIA) from working in Europe, asked the same PIA to help them evacuate its citizens from Kabul.

The European Union (EU),  Asian Development Bank (ADB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF) have sought help from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to evacuate their employees from Afghanistan.

In a letter to pakistan International Airline(PIA) Chief Executive Officer Arshad Malik and Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan, European Union(EU) Ambassador to Pakistan On Humanitarian Grounds, Androulla Kaminara said that they should make available an extraordinary aircraft to evacuate members of the European Union delegation stranded in Afghanistan and Kabul Airport.

The letter states that an evacuation list has been drawn up in which 251 people have been given priority and 420 people have been considered for evacuation. Ms. Kaminara said that the final destination of all individuals would be in the European Union. She had already obtained the commitment of the members of the European Union. She said she needed a flight from Kabul to Islamabad and would fly to Europe on another plane provided by the European Union.
